Clark volleyball, women’s soccer post wins

A day after having its 10-game winning streak snapped, the Clark College volleyball team was back to winning on Saturday as the Penguins won their NWAC South home opener over Lane 25-17, 25-11, 25-16.

Dalaney Tuholski had 13 kills, Olivia Jacoshenk had 23 assists, Megan Hess had 12 assists, and Mary Schorn had 14 digs.

Clark (18-2, 3-1 NWAC South) next plays at Chemeketa on Wednesday and is home on Friday against Clackamas.

WOMEN’S SOCCER — Kyra Krous and Jazmin Rojas each scored two goals as Clark won at Chemeketa 7-1.

Kayla Beard and Sarah Teubner were each credited with two assists as the Penguins won their fifth match in a row.

Clark (6-2-0, 5-0-0) leads the NWAC South region by six points over Clackamas. The Penguins next play at Rogue CC in Grants Pass, Ore., next Saturday.

MEN’S SOCCER — First-place Clark (3-3-0, 3-0-0) faces Portland (2-1-1, 0-0-1) at 2 p.m. today at Hillsboro Stadium.

CROSS COUNTRY — The Clark women’s team placed 10th out of 15 teams at the St. Martin’s Classic/NWAC Preview. They were third among six NWAC schools.

Lizzye Rybalka was the top Clark runner, placing 27th overall in 20:15.7 on the 5K course. There were 113 competitors.

The Clark men did not have enough runners for a team score. Jarod Hulsizer was the top runner for Clark, placing 27th overall in 27:56.7. There were 116 competitors.
