Clark Talks: Podcast focuses on county chair race

By Jake Thomas, Columbian political reporter
Published: September 21, 2017, 6:00am

In this week’s Clark Talks, Columbian reporters Jake Thomas and Dameon Pesanti talk about the race for Clark County council chair.

Although the race is more than a year away, state Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas, has already launched her bid to replace current Chair Marc Boldt.

Thomas and Pesanti discuss the background of Pike, her ability to already raise large sums of money and how the race might shape up.

They also discuss the candidates who have announced they’re running for Pike’s seat.

Then the co-hosts turn to the contentious race for Port of Vancouver commissioner and the most recent attempt to remove candidate Don Orange, an opponent of a proposed oil terminal, from the ballot.

The show is available for free on Soundcloud, iTunes, Stitcher or wherever you get your podcasts. Contact Pesanti and Thomas about the podcast at podcast@columbian.com.
