Clark athletics: Penguins perfect on Saturday

Wins come from volleyball, women and men's soccer

Samantha Rosenkranz scored three goals, all in span of seven minutes late in the match as the Clark College women’s soccer team beat Clackamas 5-0 on Saturday in Vancouver.

Rosenkranz, a Union High graduate, scored in the 82nd, 87th and 89th minute of the match as the Penguins improved to 3-0 in the NWAC South region and 4-2 overall.

Facienne Graham had a goal and two assists, and Ridgefield High grad Madison Ochoa had a goal as well for Clark. Maggie Higgins made two saves in goal for the shutout.

MEN’S SOCCER — Eric Hernandez scored two first-half goals, and Joseph Miguel Martin made 11 saves in goal as Clark shut out Chemeketa 3-0 at Salem, Ore.

Andrew Moreland scored in the second half for Clark off Kento Oudomphong’s second assist of the match.

The Penguins (2-0 NWAC South) next host Southwestern Oregon at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

VOLLEYBALL — Clark improved to 17-1 with a 3-0 win at Southwestern Oregon in Coos Bay on Saturday. Scores were 25-13, 25-18, 25-15. It was Clark’s 10th victory in a row.
