Nominees for Week 1 fall sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 9.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address, one vote per IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

RYAN CIBART, HERITAGE BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Cibart posted a 16-second victory in the Steve Maas Run-A-Ree in a time of 16:15.

LAYNIE ERICKSON, LA CENTER VOLLEYBALL: Erickson had 23 kills, 33 digs, 5 aces and 7 blocks in a pair of wins for the Wildcats.

MADDIE KEMP, CAMAS GIRLS SOCCER: Kemps scored six goals, two unassisted in a 7-0 victory over Lake Oswego.

GRAHAM MOODY, MOUNTAIN VIEW BOYS GOLF: Moody shot a 4-under 30 in his prep debut match at Fairway Village.

EMILY PHELPS, FORT VANCOUVER GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Phelps edged Krystal Kaufman by a second to win the Steve Maas Run-A-Ree in 18:51.
