Animal advisory board looking for member

Clark County – Clark County seeks the owner of an animal-related business to serve on a volunteer advisory board.

The Animal Protection and Control Advisory Board is a 10-member panel. According to a news release, its functions include reporting to the county council and Vancouver City Council at least once a year on general operations of the Animal Protection and Control Program, recommends code changes, acts as appeals hearing board, performs outreach functions and encourages dog and cat owners to get their pets licensed.

The board has an open position for a local owner of an animal-related business, which could include breeding, grooming, boarding and training (but excludes a veterinarian practice).

The term begins on appointment and ends Oct. 31, 2021.

The advisory board meets meet quarterly at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month at Clark County Public Works Operations Center, 4700 N.E. 78th St.

Application deadline is 5 p.m. Oct. 13.
