Nominees for Week 8 fall sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 28.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address, one vote per IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

CALVIN DUBOIS, LA CENTER BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: DuBois captured the 1A district championship, posting a nine-second win at Lewis River Golf Course in 16:37.

SYDNEE DYER, SETON CATHOLIC GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Dyer ran to a 12-second win to capture the 1A district championship in 18:55.

GUNNAR HARLAN, BATTLE GROUND BOYS TENNIS: Harlan pushed defending state champion Andrew Kabacy to the brink before placing second in the bi-district tournament in a 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 defeat.

DANA SNIDER, KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN VOLLEYBALL: Snider had 39 kills and 47 digs in three wins as the Knights claimed the final Trico berth to the district tournament.

KENDAL SPENCER, PRAIRIE GIRLS SOCCER: Spencer had three goals and one a assist in two league wins as the Falcons won the 3A GSHL title.
