“We may be wet, but we won’t be hungry” is what Tamale Festival organizer Hector Hinojosa told The Columbian a few days ago.
But that was before the weekend weather forecast predicted a deluge of rain on Saturday, when the festival — including a tamale cooking contest — was to be held in downtown Washougal.
Hinojosa said it was a tough decision, but the festival has been canceled. Look for the event to be rescheduled, perhaps next spring, he said.
