County to recognize green businesses

Clark County is accepting nominations for its Green Awards, a program run by Public Health that recognizes organizations and individuals for their sustainability achievements.

According to a county news release, there are three categories for the awards:

• Green Business Award for a business with at least 26 employees.

• Green Business Award for a business with fewer than 26 employees.

• Green Apple Award for a local school district employee or volunteer who inspires environmental leadership in students.

Nominations can be made online at www.clarkgreenneighbors.org/greengala.

The nomination deadline is 5 p.m. Nov. 30.

Winners will be announced at the Green Gala event at 6 p.m. Feb. 22, 2018, at the Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main St.
