Volunteers canoe, clean up at Vancouver Lake

The Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership had 68 volunteers come out to Vancouver Lake on Sept. 23 for Paddle, Pick up and Picnic, where people went on canoe trips, cleaned up the beach and participated in children’s nature activities.

Fruit Valley — The Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership hosted its Paddle, Pick Up and Picnic event Sept. 23 at Vancouver Lake. The partnership had 68 people come out for a day filled with canoe trips, beach and park cleanup and children’s nature activities. Throughout the day, the partnership offered up six canoe paddles on 29-foot canoes, and volunteers picked up 34 bags of trash.
