How Clark County college football players fared, Oct. 7

Reilly Hennessey and Kevin Haynes continue to lead Central Washington to success.

Hennessey, a junior from Camas High, threw for five touchdown passes for the second consecutive game, a 55-27 win over Humboldt. State.

Haynes, a senior from Battle Ground High, had a team-high 14 tackles at linebacker.

Together, they have Central Washington off to a 6-0 start, including 4-0 in the NCAA Division-II Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

This past weekend also saw career bests from two kicking specialists from Clark County.

Erik Powell (Seton Catholic) made a career-long 52-yard field goal as No. 11 Washington State beat Oregon. He was 4-for-4 on field goals and was named Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week for a second straight week. He is also tied with John Traut (1982-85) for fourth all-time at WSU with43 field goals made  43.

Caleb Lightbourn (Camas) had a career-long 69-yard punt, as well as a 57-yarder, in Nebraska’s game against Wisconsin.

Reilly Hennessey, Camas, Jr. QB — Completed 21 of 30 passes for 216 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions. He had five touchdown passes (2, 7, 15, 19 and 6 yards) for the second straight week.  Also rushed for a team-high 118 yards on 13 carries.

Kevin Haynes, Battle Ground, Sr. LB — Had a team-high 14 tackles, including four solo, one tackle for loss and half a sack.

Will Ortner, Hockinson, Fr.*, OL — Played in a backup role for an offense that racked up 546 yards, including 284 yards rushing and allowed no sacks.

Isaiah Carbajal, Mountain View, Fr., DL — Will likely redshirt.

Chapman

Lightbourn also had a 57-yard punt and averaged 47.4 yards on five punts, while pinning Wisconsin inside its 20 three times.
