Vancouver — The Commission on Aging will host a speaker this month to discuss socialization as a lifelong need.
The meeting is at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. Judy Canter, a licensed independent clinical social worker, will discuss how isolation affects the brain and spirit, as well as other challenges related to socialization.
The upcoming meeting is the eighth of nine meetings this year focused on supportive services for people 50 and older.
The Commission on Aging is a nine-member volunteer group that implements the Aging Readiness Plan and works to address the needs of aging community members.
