Junior Dwight Jones was 4 of 7 from 3-point range and sophomore Carter Monda was 4 for 6 to helps give first-year coach Brett Henry a victory is his debut at the helm.
Jones led Evergreen with 19 points and Monda added 13 as the Plainsmen took control by halftime, leading 35-26.
“In the second quarter, we changed to a zone defense,” Henry said. “And that’s where we made our initial push. After that, there were a lot of trading baskets the rest of the way.”
Heritage’s Sanjeet Singh scored 21 points to lead all scores.
