Eli Hoover made sure Hudson’s Bay started its season on fire.
Hoover gave the Eagles a 9-0 lead with three 3-pointers. Hudson’s Bay cruised from there, beating R.A. Long 70-39 in a non-league home game Tuesday.
Hoover finished with 21 points, including six 3-pointers, and rebounds.
Hudson’s Bay coach Theo Mikaele was pleased with his team’s defense. His team led 35-15 at halftime.
“Our goal was to go into the half having allowed 25 points,” he said. “So we exceeded our expectations.”
Quadrese Teague added nine points and seven assists. Demareya Gipson had 11 points.
“What has most important is that we were pretty balanced,” Mikaele said. “The ball was being distributed equally.”
