Boys basketball: Battle Ground 82, Seton Catholic 35

Kaden Perry scored 17 points and Vincent McCormic added 14 as the Tigers opened their season with a convincing win at home.

Perry, a freshman, also had nine rebounds.

“For his first high school game, I think he did alright,” Battle Ground coach Manny Melo wryly said.

Colin Barton scored 14 points and Brendan Beall added nine. Both came off the bench to play significant minutes and help Battle Ground extend its lead throughout.

“We shared the ball really well,” Melo said. “We ran the floor all night.”

Battle Ground shot 56 percent from 2-point range and 48 percent on 3-pointers.

Isaiah Parker scored 13 points and Luke Pitzer added nine for Seton Catholic (0-1).
