One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning at the intersection of East Fourth Plain Boulevard and Northeast Stapleton Road, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Vancouver police responded at about 6:45 a.m. to the intersection after a vehicle ran a red light and struck a van, knocking it on its side, police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

The vehicle that reportedly ran the light sustained heavy front-end damage, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

Kapp said that at least one person was transported via ambulance to a hospital.

The intersection was closed for a time while oil and other debris were cleaned up, which required a street sweeper.
