The National Weather Service urges motorists to use extra caution this morning due to patchy fog that’s expected to persist for the next few hours.

Some areas only have about a quarter-mile of visibility. The patchy fog is affecting the greater Vancouver area, Portland metro area and the Interstate 5 corridor in Cowlitz County, according to the National Weather Service.

The fog will likely lift by 10 a.m.

Today’s temperature is expected to reach 50 degrees, with a low of 42 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
