One man was hospitalized after an apparent shooting at a Walgreens parking lot at Northeast 98th Avenue and East Mill Plain Boulevard Monday afternoon.

Police were called to the store just before 4 p.m. for a report of an assault with a weapon, according to emergency dispatch logs. Vancouver police Officer Ilia Botvinnik said callers found a man with a gunshot wound in the store lot.

The man, who was not identified, was alive and taken to a hospital, Botvinnik said.

Detectives are investigating, Botvinnik said, and it wasn’t yet clear Monday night what had happened leading to the shooting.

A suspect had not been identified, he said, but investigators didn’t think there was a threat to the public.
