One man was arrested early Saturday morning after a high-speed chase ended in a crash in Hockinson, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The pursuit began just before 1:30 a.m. when a sheriff’s sergeant saw a vehicle speeding north on Northeast 172nd Avenue and crossing over the center line, according to a CCSO report and dispatch records. Instead of stopping, the vehicle sped away, running a stop sign and reaching speeds of around 120 mph.

The pursuit ended when the driver of the vehicle couldn’t negotiate a T-intersection and crashed into a gate and detached garage at the corner of Northeast 172nd Avenue and 159th Street.

The driver of the vehicle, Miguel A. Gomez, 21, was arrested on suspicion of attempting to elude, according to the CCSO. He was also being processed for allegedly driving under the influence. His city of residence was not reported.

Neither Gomez nor his two passengers were injured, the CCSO reported.
