Weather Eye: Skies could begin to clear Friday, may be dry Saturday

Typical November weather continues, as I guess it should. While Vancouver had a halfway decent day Tuesday, the Washington Coast was getting hammered with blustery winds and heavy rain.

Add to that a line of severe thunderstorms moved in off the ocean just before midnight and brought rains in the 1- to 2-inch range in less than an hour. Lightning, thunder and hail were also thrown in the mix.

Did you hear the blustery winds late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning? Winds in Clark County were in the 25-35 mph range with some gusts at 40 mph. I had several emails from readers who had a difficult time sleeping. Of course, I know there are many of you out there who love the sound of rain on the roof and the wind whistling through the trees. Makes for a crazy night.

Wednesday the rain that lingered on the coast Tuesday made its appearance over Clark County and the associated front actually stalled right over Interstate 5. Hence, the steady rain most of the day with 1 inch falling in Vancouver as of 5 p.m. That caught us up to normal in that department.
