Woodland — The I Am Family Choir from Africa performed at Woodland High School on Oct. 18 to raise awareness of the challenges facing Ugandan children. The choir, which also visited Woodland in 2011, performed songs and dances from some of the more than 50 tribes and cultures in Uganda. Members travel around Arizona, California and Washington for eight months performing. The visits also raise sponsorship support for the performers’ families and other children back in Uganda. To learn more about the choir, visit www.iamfamily.org.
