A Vancouver man appeared in court Monday on suspicion of multiple counts of viewing child pornography. Police said he admitted to viewing and downloading illicit images on a laptop computer at his care facility last year.

According to an officer’s probable cause statement filed in court records, Clark County Sheriff’s deputies responded Nov. 8, 2016, to a residential care facility in Vancouver, where someone reported a resident viewing child pornography.

According to the court records, a staff member told the deputies he discovered two downloaded images of child pornography on a staff laptop computer and learned that another staff member had let resident Bryson Brinkman use the machine.

When asked about it, Brinkman, 24, admitted to viewing child pornography and downloading the images, court records said.

The laptop was seized for analysis, and investigators eventually found 630 images of child pornography stored on the computer, according to court records.

Last week, Brinkman was arrested on suspicion of three counts of first-degree possession of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and one count of the same crime in the second degree.

Brinkman was summoned to court Monday and was placed on supervised release. His next court date was set for Nov. 21.
