Minnehaha — Trudi Inslee, the state’s first lady, visited the Clark County Food Bank on Oct. 24.
She packed food boxes with the Fresh Alliance volunteer team and prepared ingredients with the Nutrition Education team.
In a press release from the food bank, Alan Hamilton, executive director, said the visit was an encouragement to staff and volunteers, and a chance for the bank to highlight its two-part mission: alleviating hunger and its root causes.
Hamilton said that packing boxes helps the food bank tackle the first part of its mission, while the Nutrition Education team addresses the second, according to the release.
