A small fire Tuesday afternoon damaged a fiberglass manufacturing facility in Ridgefield.

Clark County Fire & Rescue and Fire District 6 firefighters were called to the Ershigs manufacturing facility, formerly Attbar Inc., at 5985 S. Sixth Way, according to emergency dispatch logs.

Clark County Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Dawdy said a worker noticed a fire outside the business’s finishing area around 3:20 p.m., then called 911.

The fire made its way inside the building, he said, but firefighters were able to suppress it fairly quickly.

“This is one of those great big industrial metal buildings,” Dawdy said. “It’s two stories tall, and (the fire) got inside one of the buildings and went up the interior wall.”

The Ershigs plant in Ridgefield is 45,000 square feet, according to the company’s website.

Specifics on the extent of the damage weren’t yet available, but Dawdy said it appeared the building would likely be usable again within a day. No one was injured.
