The Vancouver Police Department was able to successfully reunite a woman with her mother’s missing family photo album Friday.
According to a news release, the woman didn’t know the album was missing, but she contacted law enforcement about the family heirloom Friday at the urging of several family members who saw stories about it online.
On Oct. 31, The Columbian and other news outlets reported that the police had discovered the album in a discarded suitcase and were trying to find its rightful owner. The album was discovered inside a suitcase found in some bushes near Roosevelt Elementary School on Falk Road in central Vancouver on Oct. 26.
Several items were inside the suitcase, and among them was the album, which contained pictures likely shot between the 1940s and ’70s, along with several family names.
