Two people were injured in a two-car crash late Saturday on state Highway 500 in Vancouver, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A WSP report said the crash occurred at 10:34 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 500 and Northeast 42nd Avenue when Ana C. Bruchert, 22, of Vancouver failed to obey a traffic control device and turned her 2006 Honda Accord north from eastbound Highway 500 toward 42nd Avenue into the path of a westbound 2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer driven by Loren G. Cowan of Sammamish.

The SUV struck the Honda’s passenger side, totaling both vehicles, the WSP reported.

Both drivers were injured and transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, according to the WSP. Their condition was not immediately available.

The WSP report said troopers are recommending a charge of failure to obey a traffic control device against Bruchert.
