Get a sneak peek at all studio tour has to offer

Downtown gallery displays art ahead of 2-day, self-guided tour

On Nov. 11 and 12, you can drive all over Clark County in search of dozens of local artists who’ll welcome you to their workshops during their fifth annual Open Studios tour. No matter how major an art lover you are, though, it’s just not humanly possible to visit them all.

That’s what today’s tour preview is for. Get an early look at pieces by all 53 participating artists as they’re displayed in one convenient and novel location: downtown Vancouver’s new Art At The CAVE gallery at 108 E. Evergreen Blvd. The elegant gallery, which opened last month, aims to add a big dose of fresh, edgy excitement to the local art scene; there’s no better way than by exposing art fans to the diversity of creators who call Clark County home.

“After five years, I’m still surprised by the number of new artists applying and participating,” said tour director (and Ridgefield painter) Jennifer Williams. This year, she said, 19 artists are new to the tour.

Previewing it all in search of true artistic love would be a smart way to plan next weekend’s sprawling, self-guided tour; you can also pick up a tour guidebook and map at the event. While you’re at it, enjoy jazz music by the Upfront Band and brew pours by Trusty Brewing.

This tour sampler will remain on display at the CAVE gallery through November.
