YALE — Drivers of Lewis River Road/state Highway 503 east of Woodland should plan for a daytime detour due to hillside stabilization work along the highway next week.

Washington State Department of Transportation crews will temporarily close Highway 503 near Speelyai Bay Road for rock blasting above the roadway from noon to 4 p.m. Monday.

A signed detour will be in place.

When the highway reopens, traffic will be routed through a single lane, alternating directions, until the work is finished.

Additional intermittent closures will be announced.
