Bagley Downs — The Free Clinic of Southwest Washington received a $2,500 grant from the Northwest Natural Gas Co. to help fund X-ray services.

The clinic performed 377 X-rays for low-income, uninsured patients in the last fiscal year, according to a release from the clinic. X-rays allow the clinics 500 volunteers to understand the severity of a complaint or injury and treat it properly.

“Reassurance is one of the most valuable things x-rays provide for our patients,” Executive Director Barbe West said in the release. “Knowledge is powerful. It can relieve worry for people who already face plenty of life challenges.”
