Camas — Desiree Fisher, 16, and her horse, Goose, earned a gold medal in the Washington State High School Equestrian Teams state meet at the Grant County Fairgrounds in Moses Lake. She rode for the District 4 Evergreen United Team in the Hunt Seat Equitation Over Fences competition, and finished first out of 19 competitors, solidifying her spot in the Pacific Northwest Invitational Championships beginning Friday in Redmond, Ore. She started riding at age 11 at the Cantera Equestrian Center in Camas, where she still trains and spends time mentoring younger riders. She was also accepted into the United States Hunter Jumper Association Young Athletes Program, which helps young riders advance their education in pursuit of becoming knowledgeable members of the hunter/jumper community.
