I hope you had an enjoyable holiday weekend. At least the weather cooperated and was nice as well. Forecast bombed however with the earlier predictions of hot weather not materializing. After Saturday’s high in the mid 80s, all Vancouver could muster Monday was 70 degrees under overcast skies.
Of course, for many that was acceptable as those 90-degree forecast could have been unbearable for some. Certainly no 90-degree highs expected in the short term as a cool rough of low pressure sets up over us. Weak shortwaves or disturbances will rotate around the cool air mass and keep the chance for showers and drizzle all week into the weekend.
Highs will be near seasonal normals generally 68-75 degrees through Saturday. We will have some sunshine in between the thicker cloudy periods. It is setting up like typical June weather. If you are a sun worshiper, you may be somewhat disappointed, maybe head east of the mountains.
So least May will end up as a relatively warm and dry month. As of Monday, Vancouver’s average mean temperature was 59.4 degrees, 1.6 degrees above average and rainfall was 1.78 inches, 0.60 of an inch below normal.
