A Vancouver man who was struck crossing Mill Plain Boulevard last week has died from his injuries, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Jordan Castleberry, 33, of Vancouver, attempted to run north across Mill Plain Boulevard at Southeast Park Crest Avenue at 11:57 p.m. on May 23, Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

Castleberry was struck by a westbound vehicle which witnesses said had a green light, Kapp said. He was taken to an area hospital but was later pronounced dead, Kapp said.

Traffic detectives have determined that there is no indication that the driver, Isabella Moua, was at fault, Kapp said.

No charges will be filed in the case, she said, though the investigation is ongoing.

Jordan’s older brother Ryan Castleberry said Jordan was an organ donor, and his family learned his donations saved the lives of four others.

Jordan Castleberry was studying health sciences at Portland State University, and was working as a food distributor with Kehe Distributors, a higher-end natural food business.

“I’ve been getting calls from literally more than 100 people” with their condolences and well-wishes for the family, Ryan Castleberry said.

Adrienne Umathum, a longtime friend and teammate on a Hood to Coast team, said he was out running when it happened.

“Our team’s going to be running in his honor,” she said.

Ryan Castleberry said a service for Jordan was planned for 11 a.m. June 12 at Park Hill Cemetery.
