Fire reported at Hazel Dell house

A fire burned the front of a small single-story home in Hazel Dell on Friday evening, sending a plume of smoke into the sky.

Fire District 6 and Vancouver firefighters responded about 8 p.m. to 10220 N.E. 13th Ave., and knocked down the blaze after about 15 minutes. The fire was reportedly spreading up the front exterior to the roof, according to scanner traffic monitored at The Columbian.

It appears everyone made it out of the house safely, according to scanner traffic.

The two residents, a dog and two cats were displaced by the fire, according tothe American Red Cross, which provided assistance.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office.
