Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council.

For information on the following and other opportunities, call 360-735-3683.

Clark County Veterans’ Assistance Center needs volunteers to meet and greet veterans, direct them to resources available, do light record-keeping, and to visit with those who have served.

Clark County Food Bank — Heritage Farm/Fields of Plenty needs help planting, cultivating, and harvesting over 50,000 pounds of fresh produce grown each year. Groups and individuals are welcome.

Volunteer Connections has several opportunities for volunteer drivers. Help is needed with the 50+ Travel program, Volunteer Chore Services, Meals on Wheels, at the VA Medical Center, Food Banks and the American Cancer Society.

Shared Hope International seeks data entry volunteers to help with record keeping, tracking attendance at events, and making calls during thank you drives.

Water Resources Education Center needs garden and wetland volunteers to help around the building and near the Columbia River.

Mid Columbia Manor/Smith Tower is looking for volunteers to play the piano or other types of music for residents, help residents with their computer needs, do troubleshooting, and teach them how to use email or do internet searches. A piano teacher would also be welcome.

Furry Friends, an all-volunteer organization that rescues homeless and abused cats, seeks volunteer vet techs to help with medical exams, shots and medications, and do record-keeping. Help is needed about two to four hours weekly, with flexible hours.

Contact: information@furryfriendswa.org or call 360-993-1097.

They must learn to use the online computer program, have an email address that is checked regularly, attend a 90-minute training, enjoy talking with kids and be punctual. A commitment to at least 30 hours during the nine-week program — June 24 to Aug. 26 — is requested.

To apply, contact Ellen Miles at emiles@cityofcamas.us or 360-834-4692, ext. 4703. The application deadline is June 16.
