The annual Walk to Cure Arthritis is set for May 20 in downtown Vancouver.

More than 400 walkers are signed up for the event. The Arthritis Foundation is hoping to raise $55,000 at the local event — money that will be used to fight the country’s leading cause of disability.

The local event begins with an opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 20 at Esther Short Park, 400 W. Sixth St. The walks begin at 10 a.m.

The event includes 1-mile and 3-mile loops. Dogs are welcome to join.

For more information and to register for the Vancouver Walk to Cure Arthritis, visit www.walktocurearthritis.org/vancouver or contact Jeannine Walker at 503-245-5695 ext. 101.
