Nominees for Week 7 spring sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the two-week period ending May 6.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

ALYSSA CHAPIN, HOCKINSON GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: Chapin won the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles at the Spudder Invite, posting top-6 times in Class 2A.

JACOB DAVIS, WOODLAND BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Davis won the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles at the Spudder Invite, posting top-4 times in Class 2A.

KAIA OLIVER, RIDGEFIELD SOFTBALL: Oliver struck out 27 batters over 22 innings and three league wins for the Spudders.

JASPER RANK, MOUNTAIN VIEW BASEBALL: Rank allowed 0 earned runs in 9.1 innings and earned a win and a save in two bi-district wins for the Thunder.

KENZIE SCHREINER, UNION GIRLS TENNIS: Schreiner had three straight-set wins in victories over Battle Ground, Heritage and Skyview.
