James D. Thayer will discuss his recent book — “Hiking from Portland to the Coast: An Interpretive Guide to 30 Trails” — Saturday at the Fort Vancouver Visitor Center.
The Portland-area author’s 1 p.m. presentation at the Visitor Center, 1501 East Evergreen Blvd., is free.
Thayer, a faculty member at Portland State University, will supplement his discussion of Pacific Northwest trails with stories about some intriguing places those routes can take you hikers.
Copies of his book will be available for sale in the Friends of Fort Vancouver bookstore.
