Nominees for Week 6 spring sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the two-week period ending April 29.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

JAKE CONNOP, COLUMBIA RIVER BOYS SOCCER: Connop had six goals and one assist in three wins as River clinched the 2A GSHL title.

LOGAN JONES, PRAIRIE BASEBALL: Jones pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief and went 5 for 8 with two home runs and nine RBI, including the go-ahead 3-run homer in big win over Kelso.

TREY KNIGHT, RIDGEFIELD BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Knight had top marks in the state in 2A in the shot put (57-6.5) at the Panther Twilight and discus (172-5) against Ridgefield.

ALEXIS MORRISON, BATTLE GROUND SOFTBALL: Morrison went 8 for 9 with 10 RBI, a double, triple and grand slam in three wins for the Tigers.

JULIETA RENDON, UNION GIRLS GOLF: Rendon shot a 2-over 38 at Camas Meadows in a win over Hockinson.
