“This is a good stepping stone,” he said. “Coaches stress hard work and dedication, and I pride myself on that.”
Anderson, an outfielder, started his season strong with at least one hit in 20 of the Knights’ first 27 games. He finished with a .246 batting average and .296 on-base percentage. He had nine multi-hit games.
Next up for Anderson is summer ball with the Klamath Falls Gems of the Golden State Collegiate Baseball League.

• George Fox junior softball pitcher Madison Sorensen (Woodland HS) was a first-team All-Northwest Conference selection. She led the conference in strikeouts with 95, ERA at 1.62 and had a 13-8 record.
• Sacramento State freshman Mo Spieth (Union HS) hit her eighth home run of the season on April 29 in a 6-2 win over Northern Colorado. She leads the team with 41 RBI and is just the fourth player in Sacramento State history with more than 40 RBI in a season. The Hornets conclude the Big Sky regular season at Portland State on Friday and Saturday.
• Stanford freshman Teaghan Cowles (Columbia River HS) is third on the team with a .336 batting average and 25 RBI. She had a nine-game hit streak in February, and twice has had four hits in a game this season, most recently at Oregon State on April 23.
• Montana sophomore pitcher Colleen Driscoll (Mountain View) is second on the team with a 3.22 ERA. She has a 5-5 record and thrown 74 innings, also second on the team.
• Western Oregon senior Emma Alfonso (Union) is hitting .218 with 12 RBI for the playoff-bound Wolves. Freshman Ashley Doyle (Mountain View) has a .324 batting average with 18 RBI.
• Concordia senior shortstop Taylor Bussey (Prairie) led the Cavaliers with 45 RBI and 10 home runs in her final season, while hitting .343. In her final game on April 30, she went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBI in a 4-3 win over Saint Martin’s.
• Saint Martin’s baseball pitcher Aaron Shoup (Woodland) is 4-3 with a 5.00 ERA this season in 11 starts. A sophomore, he leads the team in innings pitched (68.1) and strikeouts (56).
• University of Portland baseball outfielder Cody Hawken (Union) has played all 44 games to this point for the Pilots. A sophomore, he is hitting .241 with five home runs and 23 RBIs.
