Organizers are planning a rally in support of President Donald Trump, with treats and speakers, for Sunday afternoon at Esther Short Park in downtown Vancouver.
The rally is set for 1-3 p.m., and organizers say it will include food, coffee, vendors and speakers. Also, they said there will be a give-away of Trump-themed and “Don’t tread on me” Gadsen flags.
The Marlin James Band, a country music act, will provide live music, organizer Joey Gibson said.
Gibson, who has helped set up previous pro-Trump rallies in the county, said he expected the event to be tame, in contrast to rowdier rallies with counter-protests, such as a rally in Lake Oswego, Ore., earlier this month.
The afternoon’s speakers will include state Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas, county Republican Party official Christian Berrigan, Bruno Kelpsas, and Joel Mattila, the sole Trump delegate from Washington at the national Republican Party’s nominating convention last year. Gibson will also speak.
