Five Corners — Orchards Elementary School’s Shelly Waymire was awarded the Evergreen School District Foundation’s Educator of the Year award during a school staff meeting March 8.
Waymire is a special education teacher in a structured learning classroom with students from kindergarten through fifth grade who have severe behaviors and have not responded to interventions in the general education classrooms.
According to a release from the foundation, “Shelly’s commitment to reach, motivate and impact the learning of students with disabilities makes her Educator of the Year.”
