Parks and recreation seeks volunteers

Vancouver – The city of Vancouver is looking for three volunteers to fill positions on the Vancouver Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission.

The deadline date has been extended to 5 p.m. Friday, April 14. There is a one- and two-year position available, both start upon appointment. There is also a three-year position, starting July 1, 2017. Applicants must live within the Vancouver city limits.

Meetings are on the third Wednesday of every month from 3 to 5 p.m.

The commission advises the Vancouver City Council and city on needs and programs for parks, open space, playgrounds, facilities and recreation services. There are 10 people on the citizen group.
