Woodland — The Woodland Chamber of Commerce honored standout citizens and businesses at its annual installation banquet.

• Jim Bays was selected Citizen of the Year. Bays, a lifelong resident of Woodland, served as a member of the school board for 44 consecutive years with only one brief break, the state’s second-longest service among directors. He has also served two separate terms as president of the Woodland Chamber of Commerce.

• Stephanie Smith, a charge nurse, staff development coordinator and infection prevention nurse at Woodland Care Center, was selected Employee of the Year. Nominated for her dedication and commitment to providing quality care, Smith has worked for the center for 10 years. In her acceptance speech, she noted her children will be the fourth generation from her family to graduate from Woodland schools.

• Fat Moose Bar & Grill, which earned Business of the Year, is known for serving free meals for the homeless on Christmas Day for the past two years and for supporting local nonprofit organizations including Woodland Farmers Market. The restaurant, 1382 Lewis River Road, Woodland, is owned by Jay and Lori Smith, who have operated it since 2010.
