Cascade Park — Ten Mountain View High School students were recognized as top performers at the DECA State Career Development Conference on March 4 in Bellevue, where more than 3,000 students took part in competitions. Three of the 10 Mountain View students will go on to compete at DECA’s international conference in Anaheim, Calif., April 25-30 — seniors Max Deng and Suyash Gupta, who finished first in the financial services team event, and sophomore Iris Heuer, who finished third in personal financial literacy. DECA, a national student-run organization, promotes student leadership and study of marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Competitions include events involving business plans, advertising campaigns and business operation research papers.
