Neighborhood association awards grants for recess, instruments to schools

Lincoln — The Lincoln Neighborhood Association handed out grants to local schools at the association’s June 12 meeting. The association awarded $500 to Lincoln Elementary School for Playworks, a recess safety program, and $300 to Discovery Middle School for rhythm music instruments. The association raised money for the grants thanks to donations that came in during its Spring Neighborhood Clean-Up. A hydration station grant for Discovery is also in the works thanks to Vancouver Watersheds Alliance.
