Hudson’s Bay athletic director and associate principal Kevin Bryant has been named athletic director of the Redmond School District in central Oregon.

Redmond is a two-high school district 25 miles north of Bend. Its newest high school, Ridgeview, won Oregon’s 4A football state title in 2013, the school’s second year in existence. It one of the highlights Bryant spoke of when talking about his new post, which begins July 1.

“Being a district AD is something I’ve had on my mind, and wanted to do in some point in my life,” Bryant said.

While it’s his first district AD job, Bryant isn’t new to the Oregon prep scene. His extensive background in high school and college athletics includes athletic-director stints at Tigard and Aloha high schools in the Portland area. He was Oregon’s high school athletic director of the year in 2005.

Patrice Woods replaces Bryant at Bay. She previously was a half-time principal and teacher at Truman Elementary.
