BATTLE GROUND — Fire District 3 has hired a fire marshal to handle investigations, inspections and plan review within the city of Battle Ground, and fire safety education and prevention efforts in the district at large.
Fire District 3 holds the contract for fire protection services in Battle Ground, and Fire Marshal Chris Drone, whose position is jointly funded by the district and city, will work with the city’s community development department, according to a news release from the city.
Prior to coming to District 3, Drone worked in Vancouver as a city plans examiner and lead deputy fire marshal.
Previously, Battle Ground contracted with Clark County for fire marshal services. The county will continue to handle fire investigation and inspection services, among other fire marshal duties, in the district outside of Battle Ground.
