BookFest to benefit library summer reading

VANCOUVER – This year’s BookFest event will offer thousands of books for summer reading, as well as other surplus library materials.

Fort Vancouver Regional Library Foundation will host the annual used book sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 22, 23 and 24 in Library Hall, downstairs at the district headquarters, 1007 E. Mill Plain Blvd.

The sale will feature used books for children and adults in a wide variety of genres. The cost will be $1 for most hardbacks and paperbacks, and 50 cents for mass-market adult fiction paperbacks.

Categories include art, biographies, children’s picture books, classics, cookbooks, educational materials, reference and encyclopedias, foreign language, gardening, graphic novels, health, history, hobbies and crafts, humor, infant board books, large print, music, mysteries, poetry, romance, science and technology, science fiction, sports, travel, Westerns and young adult.

There will be some CDs and DVDs for $1 per disc.

Books will be added throughout the sale.

Proceeds will support Fort Vancouver Regional Library District’s summer reading program. Shoppers are encouraged to bring their own bags or boxes.
