A lot happens in 13 years. When the Class of 2017 entered kindergarten in 2004, George W. Bush was running for a second term. Mount St. Helens erupted that year. The Cowlitz Tribe announced it wanted to build a casino in Clark County. Evergreen won the state 4A football title that fall, the first for a Clark County school since playoffs began.

Now those shy 5-year-olds are 18 and launching into a new phase of life. We honor their accomplishments and wish them well, for they are our future.
