Vancouver police are investigating a shooting that was reported Wednesday morning near the Interstate 5 Bridge.
Officers were called to Southeast Columbia Way just east of the I-5 Bridge about 11 a.m. Wednesday for a report of someone hearing six to 10 gunshots, Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.
Two SUVs — one white, one brown — were thought to be involved in what was reported as a drive-by shooting, Kapp said.
However, neither victims nor any evidence of a shooting was initially found, Kapp said.
About half an hour later, officers were called to the 1700 block of Southeast Cutter Lane, close to the reported shooting, for a report of a suspicious vehicle, Kapp said.
Four men were reportedly changing a tire on a white GMC Acadia, a vehicle not normally seen in the area, Kapp said.
The officer arrived and found that the vehicle had bullet holes, Kapp said. Officers wrote a search warrant and seized the vehicle, Kapp said.
One of the men, identified as Scott Lindgren, was arrested on an outstanding warrant, Kapp said.
Detectives with the Neighborhood Response Team and the Safe Streets Task Force, the agency’s gang unit, are following up on the investigation.
