Public comment sought on oil terminal permit

OLYMPIA — The public comment period for the proposed Vancouver Energy oil terminal Industrial Stormwater Permit began Wednesday.

The permit sets effluent limits to regulate stormwater discharged from the facility to the Columbia River though existing stormwater outfalls at the Port of Vancouver project’s proposed location.

If approved, the terminal would transfer up to 360,000 barrels of oil per day, from trains to marine vessels.

The Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council is taking comments on the permit until Tuesday, Aug. 22. More information, and an online comment form are available online at http://bit.ly/2p5oxck.

In-person comments will be taken from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Aug. 22 at Clark College Columbia Technical Centre18700 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver.
